The difference is what happens
in the tank
Cheap humate dissolves. Good humate stays dissolved — through the filter, the line and the nozzle.
Super potassium humate is refined to 90%+ humic acid with low ash, so a smaller dose delivers the same active carbon. Its practical advantage is anti-flocculation: in hard irrigation water, standard humate can drop out of solution and block filters and emitters; the refined grade stays clear.
Where standard flakes fail
Hard water is the most common cause of "humic acid clogged my drip line" complaints. Calcium and magnesium in the water bind the humate and form an insoluble precipitate. The higher the ash and the lower the refinement, the faster this happens.
Our super grade is tested at 250 ppm Ca for 30 minutes with no floc. If your water is harder than that, send us a sample and we will run the test with your water before you buy — it takes a week and saves a season.
The three numbers that decide quality
- Humic acid on a dry basis — not "total humate" or "organic matter", which are looser measures
- Ash content — lower ash means more active material and fewer solubility problems
- Solubility, with the test method stated — a percentage without a method is marketing
Super grade specification
Produced from selected leonardite. Two purity levels are available; both are fully water soluble and tested for anti-flocculation.

Where the premium
pays back
High-value crops and precise application systems, where a clogged line or a failed spray costs more than the product.
| System | Rate | Why this grade |
|---|---|---|
| 01Drip / fertigation | 0.5-1.5 kg/ha per pass | No emitter clogging in hard water |
| 02Foliar (grapes, citrus) | 0.5-1 g/L | Clear solution, no staining residue |
| 03Greenhouse vegetables | 0.3-0.8 kg/ha | Low ash, predictable EC contribution |
| 04Turf & sports fields | 1-2 kg/ha | Fast uptake, no thatch residue |
| 05Premium blends | Per formula | High concentration per kilo |
Super potassium humate FAQ
What makes "super" potassium humate different from standard flakes?
Purity and behaviour in solution. Standard flakes carry 60-70% humic acid with more inert mineral matter; the super grade is refined to 90%+ humic acid with correspondingly lower ash. In practice that means a higher concentration per kilo, a clearer solution, and much better resistance to flocculation in hard water — which is what premium foliar and fertigation formulators pay for.
How do you test anti-hard-water performance?
The practical test is the jar test: dissolve 1 g in 1 L of water at 250 ppm calcium hardness and let it stand 30 minutes. A properly refined humate stays clear with no floc or sediment. We run this on every production batch and report solubility in the COA. Ask any supplier for the same test before you commit to a container.
What is the price difference between 70% and 90%?
Expect roughly USD 800-1,500 per MT FOB for the super grade versus USD 550-800 for standard flakes — the premium is driven by yield loss during refining and by the leonardite quality required. See the price guide for the full breakdown.
Which crops justify the higher cost?
Where the margin per hectare is high and the application is precise: grapes, citrus, greenhouse vegetables, berries, and turf. In these systems a small dose of a cleaner product outperforms a larger dose of a cheap one, and clogged drip lines cost more than the product difference.
Can it be blended with NPK and micronutrients?
Yes. At normal rates the super grade acts as a chelating carrier and does not precipitate with NPK solutions. We recommend a bench compatibility test with your exact formula before commercial blending — we will send samples specifically for that purpose.
